Lark is the first filly to be born on Hollymead Farm. After four colts, I was wondering if we would ever have a filly! Lark is an energetic and strong little girl. She has the cutest face and looks like she may be a carbon copy of her dam, Chickadee.

Lark loves attention from people. She is always curious and comes up to see what we are doing when we are in the pasture. She is nine days old in this picture.

Lark is now six months old. Her coat is becoming much darker where she has shed her bleached out foal hair.

We are really pleased with Lark's movement. Her conformation is correct and she moves straight.

Lark has lovely suspension and freedom in her movement.  She is six months old in this picture.

At 6 months of age Lark is looking more like a liver chestnut than a bay. She has silver/blonde hairs in both her tail and mane. Chick also has quite a bit of white hair in her tail. If you look at the picture of Blue Jay on the bottom of this page, you will see white in his tail as well. It must be a family thing!

Lark's personality is easy going and friendly. She has discovered that people are good at rubbing necks and scratching backs and she loves attention from everyone. Even the grand kids can halter and lead her to and from the pasture.

This picture was taken of Phoenix soon after he backed off the trailer at my sister's house in VA. He has settled in with his new barn mate, Mo, a 17 hand Irish Draught gelding. We miss him already! This photo is courtesy of Patty Prime.

Phoenix has the good fortune to be part of Patty Prime's family of horse and pony lovers. Here he is happily standing with Patty's daughter, Shannon, and son-in-law, Todd, and being ridden by their daughter, Emma Jean. Maybe Emma Jean and Phoenix will make their first horse show debut together when they are a couple of years older! This picture is courtesy of Patty Prime.

We are glad to hear from Blue Jay's new owner, Marsha, that he is happy in his new home. This photo is courtesy of Marsha Ferriman.
